The power of the 5 hearts... It is not for nothing that we speak of the 5 hearts of the horse. The horse's actual heart is supported by the blood pumping effect of the hoof. The frog plays a significant role in this. When the hoof is pushed up and down, the hoof supplies the lower extremities, such as tendons, ligaments and the navicular apparatus, with blood and oxygen. If this blood pumping effect is impaired by thrush, this can lead to increased damage.
